Post Disneys Hawaiin DVC Property
Hello,

As many of you know last year Disney announced that it would be building a DVC in Hawaii (http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/artic ... 40355.html), well the Lazygeek was on vacation there recently and stayed nearby and took some pictures of what we believe is the Disney property (or at least according to the map in the article above it is). As you can see from the photos below not much has happened and the land is still just an empty lot.

I am happy to get a look at where the property is actually at...
It looks to be close to the ocean and such, but is the dirt lot the only land they have? It dosent look that big. Also is it right next to the Mariott Ilhani (i think i spellled it right). If so hey have a great location... Beautiful

Looking at the map the property goes from the beach back through that dirt lot. Its hard to tell because of the angle but its a decent size plot of land for a single hotel. Here is a better look at the size/scale using Microsoft Maps: http://maps.live.com/?v=2&sp=Point.mjpw ... &encType=1 (go to the aerial view if it does not load automatically). You can see the angle he took the picture at, he was in the hotel on the left, the Marriott.

We go to Oahu semi regularly (2 times every 3 years). I was hoping it would be on the beach like many of the Military properties are.

We will be over there again in November, and I am going to try to get a look at the property. I have been thinking all along that Disney and Hawaii would be a great combo!

A couple of thoughts on the location for the Disney Property.

On one side is the Marriot, and on the other side is a Wedding Chappel.

The beach seems to me to be small for the number of guests that will be able to stay. However, it is a very nice beach. The water is amazingly warm. It is pretty shallow, so it is warmer than other beaches. There is another beach a short walk away.

Ko Olina is a private location, with a gate and a guard. They will let folks in for the day to "check things out" though.

I did not see any gas, or mini mart type stores close.
