D23 Expo - Let the Adventures Begin: Live Action at the Walt Disney Studios

On Saturday morning the arena presenation was "Let the Adventures Begin: Live Action at the Walt Disney Studios". They showed several film clips, brought out celebrities, and talked about the slate of upcoming films in the same vein as the first two Expos. For a summary of all the news that was announced, click here for the press release. Since the release covers all the news and several sites were live tweeting below are some pictures and video clips to give you a flavor of the event.

The event was hosted by The Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn. He came out and spoke about his brief history with the Walt Disney Company but long history with Disney films. He then went on to talk about the recent additions.. 2006 Pixar, 2009 Marvel, and 2012 LucasFilm. It was an impressive slide behind him:

First up was LucasFilm which they really had nothing new to announce and it was more of a teaser than anything. Several Star Wars fans around me were quite disappointed they had waited so long and got barely a mention in the several hour presentation. There were only a couple of slides and some already known items re-iterated about the next Star Wars film, such as JJ Abrams being the director. Here is the slide they showed:

Marvel Studios: Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios led this part of the presentation. The the press release details the announcements. Here is a picture of some of the cast from Thor the Dark World who were brought out on stage.

Disney Nature

The next Disney Nature film will be "Bears" and it will be released this upcoming Earth Day (4/18/14). Here is the trailer for the film.
